Earlier this year Ginsburg claimed she was the victim of sexual harassment at the hands of a Cornell science professor in the early 1950s.
Quote:
Ginsburg said she was preparing for a chemistry test when her instructor offered " a practice exam." She said she found out the next day the practice exam was actually the real test. "And I knew exactly what he wanted in return," she said. "And that's just one of many examples."
She said that she did not ignore the incident with her college instructor, but instead confronted him at his office later and said, "'How dare you? How dare you?' And that was the end of it."
By not naming the alleged perp hasn't Ginsburg created a cloud of uncertainty over all male science professors in the department at Cornell during the early 1950s? Isn't it a bit irresponsible of her to dangle this half-story out there? Even if the professor is now deceased (very likely) I think it's unfair to any living members of the department as well as their families.
In light of the Kavanaugh hearings where no detail is too small, old, or uncorroborated shouldn't Ginsburg finish what she started in the name of fairness not to mention to show solidarity with #metoo of which she has previously voiced support for?
If he was trying to make it onto the SCOTUS, I suspect she’d speak up.
