But the bible thumping Christians were not acting very Jesus-like.. now were they? Just as many are not very Jesus-like today. All organized and dogmatic religion is bull-****. And too many people do really screwed up crap while holding a bible. Evangelicals have certainly proven their atrocious hypocrisy these past few years.
In some "liberal" (for lack of a better word) circles you’re not supposed to criticize non-white or non-Christian people the way you criticize white people or Christians. And if you do criticize non-white people or Christians you must rush to criticize white people and Christians shortly thereafter with at least the same passion and venom, lest someone think that you’re a racist.

The Qur’an contains injunctions that call both for peace and for violence. The problem is not that they are there; the difficulty is that non-violent and militant Muslims appear equally justified. For some, the peace of God is through his sword; for others, it is found in his unbounded mercy.
I do believe overwhelming majority of Muslims are peace loving folks, however, a religious text contains violent verses doesn’t make it a violent religion. But it’s also a fact that a religious text containing peaceful verses doesn’t make that religion peaceful either.
The religion needs to be talked about and dealt with openly.
