When the police of Bathurst, New Brunswick are bullying you about wearing a Batman costume and soliciting candy at your age, you might have something to say. Until then, you don't.

You are outraged about something that is a year old, in a place where you don't live, and is now a non-issue. Why do you care?

Seriously--why do you care? Do you live in Bathurst, New Brunswick? Do you have kids who will be trick-or-treating in Bathurst, New Brunswick? Why do you care about what happens in Bathurst, New Brunswick? Which is probably not a place you ever heard of until you dug up that year-old report from some blog that supports your view?

How deep did you dig to get that? How long did it take you to find it? Enquiring minds want to know.

If this was happening in the US, even if I didnt live near the town, I would definitely be upset...Govt does not have to have its greedy paws in every aspect of daily lives!!

Maybe we dont really need 16 yr olds out trick or treating, but should Govt create a regulation for it...Heck NO, its not their place to do so.

Most teens stop on their own, why would a law be needed? Just more govt with a solution in search of a problem.

I draw your attention to this: https://www.upworthy.com/you-can-go-...-the-wrong-age

And this: https://thefreethoughtproject.com/mu...k-or-treating/

A whole State enacting some form of law prohibiting it? My, my......LOL.

And this, Belleville Illinois:

Sorry for that, I guess now you're all upset with the U.S. My bad.

I use to go as a skeleton.

I didn’t like how others would dress up as a non scary character (like a superhero or a fairy).

When my kids were young, I used to dress up as well and go with them. It was fun but mostly for safety concerns. People used to say to me, "Do you want some candy too little girl?" lol No.

My husband always used to pick out his favorite candies from their bags and eat it himself.

I hope they never impose an age limit where I live. First, I hate laws limiting freedoms. So there is that. Second, I like handing out candy to the little kids, it reminds me of my youth and when I had fun trick or treating. But I hate having the candy around my house when the little ones are gone. Some years I get 30-50 kids, some years barely a dozen. But I buy candy for at least 100 (just in case, I'd hate to run out).

So those teen trick or treaters save my waistline. When it hits 8:30 or so and the little ones are no longer knocking, the first group of teens in costume at my door gets all the rest of the candy. Usually I say, "take this from me, please!" Then the light goes off.

So don't trick or treat in Canada.

Problem solved.

So adults in Canada aren't able to roll their eyes and say no to teenage trick-or-treaters, they need a law against it instead?
