Top ten worst states for bad fiscal condition are all democrat run except for one.
And this is not some one time anomaly — look at chart to see how long they’ve all been poorly run

Top ten BEST states were all republican run except for one.

The statistics are not biased — they come from each state’s own records.

Mixed bag of truth and bias.
8 of the 10 best are tiny states.
Florida is purple not red.
Mercatus center is right wing bias.

Some I wont disagree with, mainly on the worst list. The best list not so much. SD for example is amazingly corrupt. Why is Kansas not on the worst list?

They are correct in pointing to pensions. IL's pensions are beyond amazing and protected by the state constitution. The governor tried reforming IL pensions but was shot down hardcore. The speaker of the IL house really runs IL and he is owned by the unions whose pensions he protects.

I suspect many of the best run have fewer and much lower pensions. NO ONE is willing to tackle state police pensions for example. Ive heard good things about Nebraska being run well for decades.

They seem to forget that the GOP has held the purse strings in this country for a while...long enough to run up trillions in debt.

https://www.heritage.org/budget-and-...on-liabilities

It is about to get very interesting with the unfunded pensions coming due in the next decade.

If there is something like 2008 economically, I would what happens to these blue states. Debt and employee wages are far higher now than then.

Many blue states have very lavish pension and retiree health plans that they will paying for a many decades to come for each retiree.

Many of these retirees will live a very long time compared to the average person because they have gold-plated benefits for life in a majority of circumstances.

Not only that with each retiree, they will have to hire a new employees that have six-figure compensation packages.

The cost of living in many blue states is so high that after-all is set in done in the next several years, it is likely that teacher compensation packages will be in the six-figures and with the high birth rate among immigrants in general they will likely need to hire alot more teachers also.

Then every 1 to 2 years many blue states pass tax increases to pay for worthless goodies at the state and local level that they have finance like a mortgage.

Dems are sticking with a platform of hate and violence, rejecting civility. They really have no answers to turn the statistics around in the OP's post.

Do you know why that was? President Obama put the true costs of the Wars in Afghanistan & Iraq into his budget which Dubya didn't using supplemental bills on a yearly basis and hiding a budget deficit.
Did you also forget the Wall Street bailout?

Obama walked into a stinking pile of economic poo poo the GOP had left him and he corrected it.
