My point is that in a society that holds Free Speech as a Natural Right not to be infringed, that the entire concept of "Hate Speech" is invalid. Yes, people say hateful things, but that doesn't mean we should censor, oppress, or jail them like the are doing in Europe, and Canada. Fortunately, there is that little pesky 1A.
Hate speech existed before the era of laws, constitutional amendments and modern definitions -it was the precursor to one clan of cave clan dwellers, exterminating another clan of cave dwellers.
I'm all for hate speech -it's prudent to know who your enemies are.

But I wouldn't say silence them - it's not about silencing, but about survival.
PC people wouldn't be that bad if they wern't so damned hypocritical with their "standards" and 100% intolerant of anyone who thinks differently from them.

Let me put it this way, I don't care that if say Jews and muslims are divided or what other divisions exist in the world, only that democrats are dividing America in their own words into "the people of color" vs "whites". That's the division I'm concerned about.

My point was in response to the claim that hate speech doesn't exist -I say it's always existed, but shouldn't be confused with the debate/division you're referring to.
People don't realize how moderate others are because they are silent = the Silent Majority.
