They are conspirators to murder. Trump gave Salman the greenlight, and is now protecting him after the fact.
It never would have happened otherwise. He is an accomplice.

Trump very well knows his extreme rhetoric "the media is the enemy of the people" can only lead to violence
toward the media, and that is exactly what happened. They should both hang for murder and treason.

Why is this guy's life/death so important?

Or, maybe, unlike Obama/Clinton...he's being diplomatic and waiting to get to the bottom of this...perhaps even waiting to see if the Saudi's will handle this internally before stoking the fires like saying he could've been his son or making poor gestures like bombing an aspirin factory.

It is not, but our relationship with a regime that supports terrorism is.

We used to at least try to get allies to respect us enough to hold to the most basic tenets of our principles, one of which used to be "don't kill your political opponents."

Of couree, coming from the "media is the enemy of the people" President who kisses up to dictators and publicly undermines our intelligence agencies, dictators everywhere feel emboldened in their behavior.

Trump doesn't want to punish Saudis because he's deeply entangled with them financially going back decades with real estate deals to the tune of tens of millions of dollars.

House dems will investigate this as soon as they take over

I dont think he was involved, though.

To a murderous dictator like Trump no life is important, except maybe his own.

Since when did diplomacy become a staple of Donald Trump’s reasoning apparatus?

Obama isn’t even a US citizen according to him so no point being diplomatic now that’s it’s financially beneficial.

Saudi crown prince bragged that Jared Kushner gave him CIA intelligence about other Saudis saying 'here are your enemies' days before 'corruption crackdown' which led to torture and death

Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman bragged of receiving classified US intelligence from Jared Kushner and using it as part of a purge of 'corrupt' princes and businessmen, DailyMail.com can disclose.

Then there is this from the Young Turks

Former Trump Official Blames Washington Post for Khashoggi’s Death!

Without a doubt Khashoggi's death is linked to his criticism of Trump. That part is ironclad.

Whether Trump ordered a hit is up for debate. If he did and knowing how Trump operates, he would not order it directly himself but used some go-between and it would be an equivocal order open to interpretation like, "You that journalist? Wouldn't it be nice if he, you know, doesn't write any more articles critical of the US president?"

But of course, there is no hard evidence yet that this is what happened.

What we do know however is just as alarming - the protecting of a crown prince who is responsible for murdering an innocent person.

I think he knew about it, and he probably said that they could do whatever they want to him, but not within USA borders. Khashoggi could have gone to the embassy in the USA to obtain the necessary documents, why didn't he? Trump probably knew that the Saudis were hoping to lure him out of the USA, the Saudi's did not want any obstacles to his travel.

Trump admires strong men, and knows they are killers. He doesn't care what they do to their own people and in his mind this USA resident was one of theirs, not one of ours, so as far as Trump is concerned they could do as they pleased if they could succeed in luring him out of the country. Wink and nod. Trump knew.

This must be particularly irksome to the Turks, who have been trying to get at Fethullah Gülen who refuses to leave the USA fearing for his own safety.
