It would be nice to have a holiday in the spring, but it can't be Good Friday because that would be establishment of religion.
We could have a day commemorating Pres Trump. It would be April 1 and called Fool's Day.
What do you think Christmas is, if not an official celebration of the birth of Jesus?
People may say 'happy holidays' instead of merry Christmas, but THAT is the holiday (Christmas/birth of Jesus), saying 'Happy holidays' is no different than Merry Christmas imo.
I posted something similar to this and it was deleted for being off topic. Then I suggested a holiday for another religion and it was deleted for off topic too.
Too bad. It would have been fun to see. I spent a little time researching holidays in other countries, and that was deleted for off topic as well.
I think that Good Friday should become a federal holiday and replaced with either Veterans or Columbus Day. We currently do not have any holiday in spring between President’s Day and Memorial Day (3 months apart) and would definitely be a perfect fit and makes sense. Several U.S. states already observe it as a state holiday (which means local State Offices, DMV, Courts, Schools, etc.) are closed and the Stock/Financial Market and can be used for secular reasons, such as in need of a spring holiday, large number of observants, and lack of staffing.
It also makes sense since most Americans are Christians, and in fact Good Friday is a national holiday in most other countries in the world, even in some non-Christian majority countries) and also in our neighbor countries that are officially secular. There is no First Amendment issue on this.
The reason why I selected to be replaced with Veterans Day is due to that we already observe a holiday in November and that we already have a holiday to observe for our veterans.
Columbus Day because unfortunately has been a controversial political correctness holiday overall and not really a big deal or important holiday.
MLK Day can perhaps also be an option for replacement.
In all seriousness, a spring holiday *would* be nice. Maybe the day after the clocks are moved forward (usually in March), to give everybody a day to adjust? That'd be practical!

Christmas is a marketing holiday--buy, buy, buy, mostly stuff you don't need, but marketers convince you that you do. It didn't start out that way, but it has morphed into a secular holiday for most people. I celebrate it and I'm not even a Christian because it has little to do with its origins anymore.
12 states recognize Good Friday as a paid holiday for state employees.
Most people don’t work for the state.
When I was working all I had to do was give notice that I was taking off for Good Friday. I was not a state worker and the company had no issues.
