Swift isn't old enough to care. Wasn't the purpose of the act to help the musicians hold onto their musical property from before 1972 so they are compensated for it?

Quote:
"The legislation includes a number of components, including a guarantee that songwriters and artists receive payments for pre-1972 recordings, as well as for improved payments for works played on streaming services."

From what I know, it sounds like a good law, and I am glad he signed it, but let's not treat it like it was his creation, or as if he signed it in the face of massive opposition, or even a shred of controversy. It was almost universally supported by both the House and the Senate.

Switching political affiliation simply because he signed it would bring a whole new level of meaning to the phrase "single issue voter."

Who knows what they really think anyway? What they say in public is a calculated marketing ploy.

Are the words you say designed to be a marketing ploy, or are you simply stating your First Amendment right to free speech ? What makes you think they are any different from you ? Last I knew, they are American citizens, and are allowed to have their own opinions, just like you.

I think this is a good thing for musicians just as the new trade agreements is a positive for America.

I don't care if Taylor Swift is a Rep or a Dem but I'd rather see celebrities stay out of politics.

The irony of you calling them brainwashed pawns is highly amusing.

I'm not a public figure. What would I be marketing? And of course they are allowed to have opinions. They are also allowed to calculate what they say based on marketing considerations.

The very idea that people may find a political stance for reasons beyond greed and self-interest remains incomprehensible to the Trump followers.

As usual, Loony Leftists don't understand dry humor. Takes intelligence.
