Idiot parents, idiot workers for even complying with such an absurd request. They opened themselves up to liability when they brought that water. If the family had such an issue with the utensils, the restaurant should have told them too bad, or brought plastic utensils.
Giving these idiots water like that was the last thing to do, I would not be surprised if they dumped it on the kid on purpose just to get a pay out.
I should have known that was coming. No, of course not, but wouldn't the water have to be a lot hotter than that to sterilize utensils?
Well I seriously doubt they are putting a special pot of water on the stove just for this table. No, they would give them the water they serve with tea.
Why is the restaurant responsible, I highly doubt the server placed the hot water directly in front of the infant. But I'm sure there's a good chance the family will get something.
Also, in another article, I read that no one did anything to really help the poor boy, no one thought to call 911, no one gave proper first aid, etc. Almost like people froze because they didn't know what to do.
I hope they lose. Why would you put a hot water anywhere near that infant. A fricken infant! There was no need for that hot water to be in reach of an infant. It's their own stupid neglect that caused the kid to be burned.

Yup. There must have been ten thousand orders for hot water for tea all across the nation, just like every other day, with no reported burns. Unless the waiter spilled the hot water on the baby, I think Applebee’s is safe.
