Fisheries like the salmon industry in the North West are being destroyed and you're worried about cheap energy.

If the Salmon industry was actually being destroyed the price of Salmon would be out of control. It has not risen more than normal inflation. We want reasonably price energy because that is what runs the country. High energy prices hurt the POOR, and Middle Income earners the most. Do you want to hurt the poor?

So what ? Well, I'll tell you, so what. We humans depend on the ocean for more than just a week vacation in Miami. It is a significant food source, the ocean provides water to rivers, it condenses into clouds, which cause rain. Half the air you are breathing right now was produced by oceans, and they absorb most of the carbon from the air.

Here in Florida, we are suffering financially and otherwise because our ocean waters are now so toxic that tourists and our Winter residents are reluctant to come here. Our water is green and brown with floating algae, and the beaches are littered with dead fish , turtles, and other sea life.

To make a "so what?" statement shows how little you know, or care to know.

This is what we are facing right now, and this season has been much longer and worse than ever before.

You can thank the FL local government for that. In an effort to appease the farmers, they allow them to use chemicals which are later released into the canals and ocean which gives fuel to the algae.

I doubt that it is that simplistic.

Red tides have been recorded along those Florida coasts dating back to the 1500s.

Yes, but chemicals do fuel the red tides, as well as the green jelly we now have in the canals and beaches.
