So what? One white person was petty toward a non-white, black person. What about all the petty and non-petty offenses whites endure from diversity? You don't see the biased liberal national media running those constantly do you?
This media narrative just to gin up black votes for the democrats and to dupe and cower more whites to vote democrat.
Let me guess, Breitbart and Fox News are the only credible news source around?
Because some people want to believe that there's no racism in America.
You are so right. Many do want to believe that but, of course, racism remains.
That's part of what's so sad about this for I get that if a minority you never quite know why an interaction goes bad. My daughter is a minority and one of my jobs as parent is to help her work to interpret - even knowing that any assessment may be error.
As a non minority (woman at that) doors to high rises are often held open for me. But I never assume they will be and always ask permission before coming through - unless, of course, the person is moving so fast they don't seem to notice.
Speaking as a white-to-the-point-of-translucency Scandinavian, I confess I have missed those.
I'm also white and have missed those. I try to make my little bubble more diverse rather than less diverse, because I see so many benefits. There are sometimes miscommunications (I work with foreign students) and cultural misunderstandings, but I see them as fascinating learning opportunities. It is absolutely amazing to me to see the differences in various cultures and groups as well as the similarities between all people, no matter where they come from.
I think it's the dudes fault. He should have buzzed in. I find it disturbing that the woman was fired for trying to protect herself and her property from who could have been a criminal and did not have legitimate access to the building.
She should sue him and the company that fired her.

One doesn't need to be a certain skin color to observe. Y'all have never heard of quotas and Affirmative Action and no ones ever done or said something to you because of your race? Y'all must live in a wonderful place.

I agree! Just the other night I confronted some people who tried to tailgate me into my gated community after they failed to get anyone to buzz them in after repeated attempts. I threatened to call the police on them and told them I would be watching their every move. NOw imagine if they had been black and not white!
We all have a responsiblity to keep our neighborhoods safe and this means if someone doesn't act like they belong (NOT based on race), then they should be confronted and made to state their business. My friend does neighborhood watch and they've drawn guns on suspicious visitors before, thankfully they were also white so no racism claims.
