Not sure what you’re talking about. Society is damaged by these drugs. Countries with the strongest drug laws are not christian, so I’m not sure why you keep bringing that up except that you need something imaginary to attack because real world facts disagree with you.
I don’t need a bunch of biased reports that bled freedom and “tolerance” to know that a country that punishes people criminally for speech and opinions is not free by any stretch of the imagination and the fact that those countries are anywhere except at the bottom of your lists proves that the lists are worthless in assessing real freedom. I don’t understand why people feel they need a list to know if they are free. Here’s the test to know if you live in a free country: speak relentlessly in public on an idea or issue that offends the status quo and those in power and see what happens to you.
You have no understanding of our hate speech laws it seems. Having opinions, ANY opinion is perfectly fine.
Hate speech has a lot of hurdles to cross before the law would even look at a complaint. You have to be inciting violence to a particular group and ACTIVELY doing that.
Real rights keep you free (speech, arms, press). Fake rights package a special privilege as a right and makes some people happy but also damages society and does not advance freedom. Fake rights are used to pacify people.
Your argument makes no sense. If I have a right to free speech because it advances my freedom, then I must also have the right to the freedoms being advanced. If I don't have the right to the freedoms that are advanced by my free speech, then the right to speech is meaningless. It would be a right to nothing. So you are just begging the question as to what freedom is. You seem to think that freedom is just whatever you personally think it is.
You are of the subjective opinion that marijuana somehow damages society. You are welcome to your opinion but if you think your opinion is so great that it warrants throwing others in jail and truly taking their freedoms away because they did something that you don't like, you have the logic of a dictator. You are the exact authoritarian you describe. List some of the hobbies you enjoy in your personal life and I bet I can find one that someone could make the case that it is damaging society.
Alcohol is a far more damaging drug to society than weed. Thousands of people killed by drunk drivers, countless families torn apart by alcoholism, death from overdoses etc. Weed by contrast hardly ever kills anyone.
Since we've already experimented with making alcohol illegal and realized what bad policy that was, there is absolutely no reason weed should be illegal.

You have the right to speak freely about privileges you want even though they damage society and why your need for that privilege is more important. You don’t have the right to every privilege that you use your free speech rights to advocate for.

The fact that Canada legalized pot reflects how Big Pharma doesn't have as much influence in that country. It also reflects why drugs are priced lower there.
