They were not offered asylum. They would be allowed to stay and work in Chiapas or Oaxaca. And why would that not be a good idea? Because Chiapas for instance has a large migration out to other parts of Mexico driven by 75% poverty levels - the worst in Mexico. So basically the Mexicans offered jobs where there are no sustainable ones and where the natives are leaving.

Not our problem.
Certainly a problem for the migrants hence their decision to continue to the US.

"Asylum" has nothing to do with jobs. You can be offered asylum is you can prove you are being persecuted or your life is in danger. It has nothing to do with providing someone with a job. It is also supposed to be a temporary state, until conditions in your original country have stabilized.

If you don’t want teargas, go home.

America is evil, racist, and oppressive. It’s horrible here with no opportunities and massive inequality with stagnat wages

Stay far away

These latter serve to make sure raw products continue to flow out of the country cheaply. In no way help the average person, but they have to pay the high interest + principal of the loans.

NOTHING IS DONE TO GET THEM OUT OF POVERTY. Absolutely no investment that could actually make a different to improve the livelihood of people living in poor countries. Most of what they produce goes to pay the interest of foreign loans, a good part is stolen through corruption. To make sure poor government pay, foreign banks and financial institutions keep pushing austerity measures. Any attempt to stop this cycle is met with coups and assassinations.

In the case of Honduras, things got even worst after the 2009 US-backed coup. More militarization and privatization. The result was more poverty and violence.

Millions upon millions upon millions in grants have been spent. It's a bottomless pit. Corruption and the willingness of the people to go along with the corruption is the root cause of their problems.

These are competent human beings. As long as they know, they can get into the US and send remittances home, they will take the easy way out. Stop blaming the bogeyman of the West.

Look at Korea. 1980-1982 people had enough of corrupt ineffective ex-military generals as leaders. They stood up and by 2000 they were a first world country. Look at Taiwan, once the most exploited people - no environmental regs, cheap expendable labor, military control. Now a democracy, a vibrant economy not based on producing cheap goods, but developing their own technology.

Look at Poland, they stood up to violent communist regimes. Look at East Germany, weekly Monday night demonstrations were among the factors that brought down the communist government. Look at South Africa, struggles against oppresive racist regime. Now a multicultural society.

Sure about that? They rushed the border hours ago and tear gas did not nothing. Stun guns are not meant to stop an onslaught either. They are good to subdue some staggering drunk guy, not a massing force. You got somethign else?
