That wouldn't surprise me at all. Another stupid blundering thoughtless move by Trump to play to his base. Every day that goes by we degrade the USA further and further under his Administration. Maybe this is to distract us from the fact that he is giving a nod-nod wink-wink to the Saudi Royal Family for murdering and torturing a journalist that dared to disagree with them.

That's racist. If they have any brown in them at all, it doesn't matter if they are criminals, violent gang members, terrorists, or drug dealers. We must let them in so we can make ourselves FEEL better about ourselves!
A screen door is what we have now.....going after people that employ them does nothing to stop the drugs, gangs like MS13, child traffickers, etc
....people seeking asylum are just one small part of it

No.. a really good screen door would work. And, I think that segment you are worried about would come with a wall in place, so it's better to have actual humans who patrol to catch those types, really.

Short-sighted thinking I'm afraid. We can certainly bury our heads in the sand and wait until problems reach our shores, but most would agree that that's a pretty stupid plan. This is exactly the reason why we have troops overseas, putting out the small fires before they become raging infernos.
And if you think problems won't come to our shores simply because we bring our troops back home, then you need a wakeup call.
We`ve been policemen of the world as well as we`ve been the instigators. The overseas bases sprouted in the 50s to protect the haves from the have nots that we called commies.

Oh come on. The other 60% of the population aren't in opposition to all of those? That is nonsense and you know it.
Trump's base is blindly focused on "winning" at any cost, with no real plan for the future. Following Trump over any cliff, down any rathole, into alliances with the most hated and reviled despots around the world; believing that causes like the wall between the US and Mexico really matter.
Trump needs to show he is serious about using the military to control the border and start the mobilization now and not wait till the invasion force arrives.

Immigration from the southern border is currently a net negative meaning more are leaving than are coming in...but continue to freak out and think your daily life is impacted by it. In the mean time health care is still a mess, income inequality keeps growing, the deficit is at record levels, and the winds are beginning to swirl around cutting entitlements to pay for the tax cuts for the wealthy. But keep on focusing on that brown boogeyman.
