Have spoken too a number of men on this issue....the ones that are worried should be. They don't get it. The ones that aren't worried seem to get it.

Every study of women regarding sexual assaults shows most don't report. There are also numerous studies of men who admit to rape or attempted rape and the vast majority have never been reported. Studies of college men show 5-15% admit to "forcible penetration against a woman's will." 13% of newly enlisted Navy admit to the the same. Almost all of those men are repeat offenders who can rack up a great many victims. It's estimated that 90% of rapes are done by repeat offenders and these men have no questions on consent, it's not a misunderstanding, they know she doesn't want it but force it anyway.
Most men don't rape, but the ones who do can be prolific leading to high numbers of victims. The crime thrives in silence, it's good for women and men to have women feel they can report offenses. There may not be suficient evidence at first, but if a man is repeatedly raping, and all his victims come forward, he's more likely to be caught.
There's belief enough to want more investigation and belief to convict, very different things. I will generally give women the benefit of the doubt but conviction needs evidence. That's why most cases don't lead to conviction unless the victim is also battered.
I said nothing about conviction - I said conservatives don't care about women. Honestly, that could not be more plain.
