For Female Candidates, Harassment and Threats Come Every Day
The abuse already common in many women’s everyday lives can be amplified in political campaigns
By Maggie Astor
Harassment is not new for women in politics, or anywhere else — and men face it too, especially if they are African-American or Jewish. But for women, the harassment is ubiquitous and frequently sexualized, and it has come to the fore this election cycle, partly because so many women are running and partly because more of them are discussing their experiences.
Quit it, if you're not a woman to begin with why would you over-worry? No offense, I am not saying women don't need protection, but let's all remember the saying "Worry about yourself"
I could make a victimhood thread about black men still being the most opressed demographic in America
Meanwhile you all can't even make up your damn mind on the definitions of harassment and assault... Meanwhile most men and especially black men have to live in fear of this...

Sarah Palin got the full on effect; but somehow the media didn't think it was serious.
Sarah Palin may be a woman but she's also an idiot. She exposed herself to the limelight but didn't expect anyone would actually look under the hood to check out the engine?

What I wonder is when women will get fed up with being constantly portrayed as "victims" in our society. Politics is a rough world, and it's getting worse, not better. So yes, women will endure abuse in the political world just as men deal with it. It's part of the game, I'm sorry to say. But they are not being targeted any more or less than other candidates, races, etc. This is just another opinion piece aimed at garnering sympathy for female political candidates in order to help them gain sympathy votes from weak-minded voters who fall for this type of nonsense. Go out and vote for who you think is the best person for the job, regardless of their race, gender, etc. Voting for candidates because you've been convinced they've suffered more than the other candidates is no way to elect a representative of the people.

It's not like most all democrat women politicians aren't idiots with talking points too .
I'm sure women are not oppressed. Liberals are the real oppressors.
