I guess it's just the price we pay to have a "civilized society". That along with the 500K Iraqi children Madeleine Albright said was "worth it".

A lot of nonsense regulations like this have already been reversed by the Trump administration. Maybe this town didn't know that.

Kind of odd they objected because it's not like he was paving it over to make a parking lot. He was planting more trees

Those aren't the regulations that have been reversed. This is a local, probably mandated by the state, regulation. President Trump, nor any President, can reverse those.

What we operate under here. A note, governmental entities are not exempt.

Yes civilized society as opposed to everyone making their own rules or having none at all, I don't much care for the Somalia model.

We have zoning regulations in my town regarding construction, noise, parking, works rather well how about you. I'm guessing you live in the middle of nowhere, a long ways from any neighbor.

But I do think that you would be better suited for Somalia.

I'm not surprised. My parent's house had citrus trees, and the county came around with tags saying there was citrus canker in the area and there was a mandate to have all trees destroyed within a 10 mile radius, and my parents just happened to be in that radius. Someone came by and said they worked for the county and will pay my father hardship of 15 bucks per tree, and my father agreed. A month later, he has a court order to appear in court because he was being fined by the local government for selling the citrus trees without a business license. Lucky for us, we were part of a good church and they had people to represent us and have the judge dismiss the fine, but I can only imagine these predatory practices the government is doing on people who don't have as much support.

Hmmm...let's see...

Somalia has a full working government.
Somalia has a President and a Prime Minister.
Somalia has a national military.
Somalia has a 10% national sales tax.

Yeah, my last 3 residences: Los Angeles, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh.

Vast prairies...as far as the eye can see.
