Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter is a Leftie. He leans so far to the Left that he friends and follows members of the Leftist terrorist Antifa groups on his own platform. He is also apparently the president of a complete monopoly, as the only viable competitor to Twitter, Gab.ai, has been taken offline by the combined efforts of PayPal and their hosting provider. The PR campaign against Gab.ai would lead most to think that it's just the Twitter equivalent of the Daily Stormer. I've hung around on Gab plenty and this couldn't be further from the truth. Apple banned them from the App Store. Google banned them from their Google Play store. The PR campaign against Gab.ai has been extremely successful, and this is a very very bad thing.
  1. The Left controls all online platforms of significance.
  2. We keep hearing, "If you don't like our rules, go build your own platform."
  3. So Gab.ai did exactly that, making freedom of speech their core ideal.
  4. And now that platform has been shutdown.
Conclusion: Any attempt by Conservatives or Libertarians to actually build their own platforms will get shut down by the giant cabal of Left-controlled entities that currently control the Internet. The Republicans in Congress are so clueless they can't possibly be expected to do anything about it. They can barely check their own email without help.

Never has more power been held by so few, and it's not a government I'm talking about. Google, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, Twitter, Stripe, PayPal and a list of other entities combine to hold nearly complete control over human communications in most of the nations on this planet. As we saw with the de-personing of Alex Jones, these companies will quite happily collude to erase any offending party or entity from existence. As the Borg famously said, "Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated." And there ain't much you can do to stop it.

Privatize everything. Let the free market decide.

If you support the paradigm of statism, you can't complain over the monopolistic corporations it creates, condones and outright supports.

Me either. And I don’t like it already. If it influenced the psycho who did the shooting, take it down.

They got till the 31st to find a new hosting site. Sadly, they have what, 2 choices in the area to choose from, and more than likely they are cut from the same cloth.

Monopolies suck. The monopoly of the tech world is just as crappy as the monopoly the world of petroleum has on the world.

And they are the same people who complain incessantly about people like J P Morgan, Heinz, Vanderbuilt, etc. Hypocrites. No surprise there. Their middle name is hypocrisy.

The government can decide anytime they want that political discussion on the internet is not healthy or necessary for the citizens and it doesn’t affect the 1st Amendment at all as far as I’m concerned.

Except it's open to everyone. And there are lefties on there, Jews on there, conservatives on there, and yes, idiots on there. It's a place for people to say whatever they want (although there are still some rules like most places have, but you don't get banned just because you don't talk PC) so if you have a thin skin, it's not the place for you. Because everyone gets to say what they actually think - including all of the people I just mentioned who are a part of that platform.

That moron being on Gab is not what caused him to go shoot the Jews who were practicing religion. That's like when they said that a music group caused someone to do something. These people already hate all on their own.
