MS-13 is a collection of people dedicated to violence and crime.

Why are you even asking this question? It's a no brainer.

Here's a challenge. Spend an entire night alone in a house full of AR-15s. Then spend a night alone in a house full of MS-13 gang members. Let us know how that works out for you.
I would be bored in a house full of AR-15s.

I am not an immigrant and have nothing to fear from MS-13. I could cook for them and they could help me understand what the hell drives them to do the things they do. Then we could hit IHOP for breakfast.

But total gun violence is definitely on the list with 10's of thousands of victims per year.

I take an "all of the above" approach.
Oh? 10s of thousands you say?

There are hundreds of innocent victims per year, and over 160,000 people who are still alive because they had a firearm. It's sad liberals would trade all those lives for their ignorant political agenda.
I was about to post something similar, but craigiri did say gun "violence" and not just gun "deaths", so the statement is accurate.

Violence applies to homicide.

Homicide is not the only form of violence. An armed robbery is gun violence.

What difference does it make if its by a domestic criminal gang or a foreign one? Is a torture-murder by a domestic gang member (or even a spit-and-polish pillar-of-the-community type) any less bad on account of their being a US citizen? Is aggravated battery by a non-white foreigner really worse than kidnapping by a white, Anglo-Saxon protestant?

Which means the question should be "Which is a bigger threat in America: Submachine guns or Violent Criminals?".

But thanks for showing us a textbook definition of a Red Herring.

Apparently you need to learn the definition of "victims".......

"In 2013, there were 73,505 nonfatal firearm injuries (23.2 injuries per 100,000 persons), and 33,636 deaths due to "injury by firearms" (10.6 deaths per 100,000 persons)."

Whether self-inflicted (heroin is too, right?) or accidental or however - those are the numbers.

CDC 2016:
"All firearm deaths
Number of deaths: 36,252
Deaths per 100,000 population: 11.3"

That's deaths. Obviously you are victim if you are shot and paralyzed or blinded or one of thousands of others ways of being maimed.

"73,505 Americans were treated in hospital emergency departments for non-fatal gunshot wounds in 2010."

So, yeah, let's shoot low and say over 100,000 victims per year. So I was wrong saying 10's of thousands. It is higher. Thanks for the heads-up!

Who would you trust with your daughter, family and life savings first, second and last?

Putin
Mueller
Trump

I think that's a more relevant question.

VICTIMS is the key word here.

Some people beat up by MS-13 are VICTIMS, yet they may have been bad people. They may have been members or ripped off or mugged a member. They are still VICTIMS once MS-13 or any gang does bodily harm to them.

There is carnage on our roads. All hurt are VICTIMS. So are all killed. This is whether it was their fault of someone else's fault.

Seems like a simple concept. Cars are responsible for X deaths and injuries. Guns are responsible for X deaths and injuries. We don't sit around saying "well, if only daylight lasted 24 hours and there was no ice on the roads and it didn't rain and people didn't text and...on and on...then the Car violence would be lower".

It doesn't matter much. The dead are dead and the injured are injured.

It's not a pleasant death from fast food. Heart disease, diabetes, all the joints breaking down from excess weight and pressure. Almost like torture. BIG problem. Bigger than some "gang" of the day. There have always been gangs and there will always be gangs.

But I really doubt the murder rate in the USA will ever again match the records set in TN and KY way back of as high as 250 per 100,000 (during the Feud times). That's 50X what decent states have, and 25X the national average. But - hey - if you want something violent to aspire to, look to the hill country, not MS-13.
