Gee, I'm 'shocked.'

Year in, year out, same news over and over and over. Nothing ever changes, but we all knew that and how much this organization continues to get away wtih.

The whole Catholic church should be prosecuted per RICO statutes.

A Roman Catholic diocese acknowledged Wednesday that it concealed for decades a priest's admission that he sexually abused dozens of Iowa boys — a silence that may have put other children in danger.

The Rev. Jerome Coyle, now 85, was stripped of his parish assignments in the 1980s but never defrocked. And it was not until this week, after The Associated Press inquired about him, that he was publicly identified by the church as an admitted pedophile, even though the Diocese of Sioux City had been aware of his conduct for 32 years.

The diocese recently helped Coyle move into a retirement home in Fort Dodge, Iowa, without informing administrators at the Catholic school across the street.

I know that sexual abuse can happen in any religion, but why does it happen so much with Catholics?

Probably because in almost all other religions, priests and high religious authorities and practioners are allowed to legally get married to take care of their sexual needs. And have a happy family just like any other natural man.

IMO, in some facets of Christian doctrine, sex is looked upon as something sinister and dirty. Which is ridiculous !!

What some people don’t understand is that sex is a human need just as food water and shelter, and using the restroom is.

Religious guidance does not (and should not) ban sex - religious guidance only regulates it.

Wait until the deep state and Hollywood get exposed, they make the Pope look like Ned Flanders.

So you are theorizing that mandatory abstinence leads to pedophila?

If it was just the forced celibacy that was the problem, I think we would see many priests involved in sexual relationships with ADULT females/men if gay...something about making the jump from adults to kids that is a mystery.

Besides this, ALL the catholic parishes around here that have schools, are doing EXTREMELY WELL, some even have waiting lists for enrollment! That tells me that alot of people still do not mind sending their kids to a catholic school, and they actually prefer it...how much sense does that make?

Very true.

Any priest could easily visit a prostitute. Even if caught, the repercussions would be minor league compared to getting caught with little boys.

Is it possible that they start studying to become priests at an early age and thus their normal development is disrupted?

I completely agree. So many of these cults, I mean religions have the strangest rules for something that is natural. All of them, not just Christianity.

Sex isn't a need - demonstrated by the fact you don't die if you don't engage in sexual activity

Not to mention all the easy picking from women in the congregation! Im sure plenty of priest could be involved in secret affairs with adult women and it never be discovered, adults are better at keeping secrets than kids, they dont have the physical and psychological 'tells' that kids do either.

If they are ALREADY pedophiles before becoming priests though, that is something else entirely and not related or connected to the church/priesthood at all, would have to figure out if they are born pedophiliac or if its learned/acquired when they are older, if they are born like this...Im not sure that is a road we want to go down!!
