They work hard and achieve so much. Asians don't tend to play the victim....
It goes further than that....
For a long time, in order to immigrate (legal) from certain Asian countries (my parent's country included) you had requirements that included education and/or skill trades. The list reflected the needs of the country of that time. Nursing for example has many Asian women... because of this program.
As such, the immigration policy itself was a filter of sorts....
My father originally applied for a visitor visa to accompany his three brothers in their immigration process. The officer turned him down and said that due to his education/skill set in engineering, he was identified as at risk for over staying his visiting visa. The officer then handed him the paperwork for immigration instead. He went through the process got approved without the intent of staying in the US. He simply wanted to accompany his younger brothers and return home (he was recently married).
That was 47 years ago... and has been a US citizen for a very long time. The immigration officer was correct.
The same story cannot be said for other ethnic groups.
In fact, they are having to sue just to get equal access to colleges--in 2018!
Following the Civil War, the very existence of blacks, Indians, and Hispanics was at least grudgingly accepted.
This is fiction. In the past, people were white or black. None of these other minority groups existed before. The ridiculous notion of a "hispanic" minority group was politically fabricated in the 80s. Chinese people were also white.

The Mississippi Chinese were white, and were even members of the White Citizens council! There were no minority groups that were in the same boat with blacks. They were all white and were complicit in Jim Crow.

Yes, all people of color suffered horribly from discrimination in the 19th century. Perhaps a case could be made that blacks were treated the worst (slavery) or Indians (mass slaughters). But Asians were the only group for which total banishment was a goal.
Yet today we see little help coming from government for Asians as with other people of color. Democrats have given Asian Americans short shrift when it comes help. Not surprisingly, Asian Americans are not nearly the solid voting block for democrats as African Americans are. In the 2014 midterms, Asian Americans actually voted over 50% for Republicans. Hillary Clinton got 89% of the black vote, and only 65% of the Asian vote. This needs to become an area of focus for Democrats in the coming years.
Why would they be deserving of those benefits?
All of these other minority groups are FAKE! They were invented for the purpose of taking advantage of the civil rights movement. In the 70s, they started to fight to become recognized as minorities, so they could get federal funding and benefit from Affirmative Action. Especially the "hispanic" group.

There was no concept of "people of color". We used to have a black-white dichotomy. You were white or you were black. "People of color" was made up in the 80s. All the other minority groups are new.

How do you explain the fact that all Chinese were expelled from Tacoma, WA on Nov. 3 1885. Blacks were not. There were black miners in WA at the time. They were not treated like princes of course, but they were largely tolerated.
How appropriate that some of us have to turn our clocks back one hour Sunday but we don't need to turn them back to the 1800's to make a race case for today. Time and times change.
