Trump is actually a very funny guy. His jokes go right over the Democrats heads, because they take themselves way too seriously.
It is pure entertainment, just reading replies to his tweets. Some should write drama scripts for a living. They are that good.
I'm picturing the host of the late-night conservative comedy show delivering the monologue.
Quote:
Hey, Donald Trump is winning on the agriculture front. Between the North Korea situation, and the migrant caravan, and NAFTA, and tariffs, and appointing Supreme Court justices, Trump the stable genius, still had enough time to figure out which horse belonged in which stall. [sings] 'Mr. President had a farm. E-I-E-I-O.'
And speaking of stalling, boy, Hillary's career sure did. It just ran out of gas. Of course, if you've heard her speak lately, you know she still has plenty of hot air. But while her career may be out of gas, I'm not so sure about Hillary. Maybe she's got gas. She often looks like she does.
But seriously, I gotta say, I liked the renaming of NAFTA to the USMCA. It should remind the Canadians and Mexicans which of our military forces we'll send to invade if they don't play by our rules.
Hey, did you hear about the antifa chicken that crossed the road? Yeah, because the Trump supporters he met on this side of the road were, like all good patriotic Americans, armed; and the antifa chicken got scared. Like he should.
So, what do you think about migrants and immigrants and refugees who come here just to have their babies born on American soil, making their babies American citizens? Did you know that there are some people who doubt that Trump can cancel birthright citizenship with his signature? Seriously, they doubt it. [sings] 'Mr. President had a pen. E-O-E-O-E-O.'
Thank you, thank you. Stay tuned; we'll be right back.
So it's possible. But given the quality of what is possible, I'm not sure if it's advisable.

Undoubtedly. But Jay, on NBC, had one competitor: David Letterman, on CBS.
Jimmy, nowadays, has multiple competitors, on various network and cable channels. Consequently, the audience he might have had in the days of three networks has been diluted. Now, do I watch Jimmy? Or do I watch Trevor? Or--hey, Samantha Bee's on tonight! She's only once a week; let's catch her. Wait, find out who's on Colbert first.
What I'm getting at is that it is unlikely that any single host or show will pull in the numbers that Jay or David or Johnny did, back in the day. If Jimmy Fallon isn't doing as well as Jay; well, it's because he's got more competition than Jay. I posted a humorous (I hope) take on a late-night conservative comedy show; but if it comes to fruition, I hope that conservatives don't take it the wrong way if it is not as popular as they hoped (i.e. as popular as Jay Leno, back in the day). It's not necessarily the message--it's just that there are so many late-night political comedy shows nowadays, and if you cannot get the audience, you cannot sell the advertising that would cover the costs, and provide the profits, that would justify keeping it on the air.
There are so many entertainment outlets for the relatively small number of aging conservatives.....they have a lot of choice with Rush, Hannity, many Fox shows, Alex Jones and thousands of others.
The odds of a "conservative" comedy late night being successful are about the same as as a Gay Jewish Troupe being tops in Berlin in 1943.
We're in agreement on this one --- morning radio and radio in general is where conservatives go.... late night doesn't cut it for people who have to get up in the morning and work.
I've been watching The Greg Gutfeld Show for years, its the best comedy show ever.

Red Eye (is it still on the air?) stopped being funny when Gutfeld left, and frankly, his show isn't as good as RE was, either.
I find many of his political views infuriating, but he's witty and clever, and in spite of our differences, someone I think it would be great fun to have a beer with.
