The program was is in its infancy. Rather than repealing, why not take what was done and improve upon it. Obama set thr foundation and Trump could’ve just went in and said “ok, Inlike this, but lets adjust this and fix that”.
Foundation for what? You never build a house on a bad foundation and the ACA is a very bad foundation.
False. The Republicans has majority in the senate and house at the time.
Wrong.
The Democrats had the White House, and majorities in both the House and the Senate, with a veto proof majority in the Senate as a result of the November 2008 election.
The House version of the ACA passed the House 220-215 without one Republican vote on November 7th, 2009.
Interim Senator Kirk (appointed to temporarily replace Ted Kennedy upon his death) had already been seated in the other body/the Senate.
The Senate passed 'their version' on December 24th, 2009 with a 60-39 vote that included a Yea from Kirk.
On January 19th, 2010 Scott Walker won the special election for Ted Kennedy's seat temporarily held by Kirk, breaking the filibuster proof majority (but still a majority) once he was seated.
On March 23, 2010 Obama signed the PPACA (aka 'the ACA', aka 'Obamacare') into law.
A vote for Democrats is another vote for a penalty for not having health care. Taking your doctor away, higher health care premiums and higher taxes!
If you want that vote accordingly.
If you want lower taxes, freedom to choose if you want health care or not and not getting penalized, safe borders, legal immigrants, then vote for Republicans!
Red all the way!
MAGA. KAGA!
What health care plan are you talking about? Tell us about that Obamacare replacement the Republicans rolled out. I haven't heard anything about it.
This is truly one of the dumbest thread titles I've seen here.
It would be like saying, "Obama promised speed limits but gave penalties for not obeying speed limits!"
I mean ... DUH! If you want people to buy health insurance, it would be stupid to NOT penalize them for NOT buying health insurance.
If you want to force people to pay for something they dont need and/or cant afford you must penalize them for NOT buying the thing they dont need or cant afford. The result: 100-1000$ penalties taken from individuals and families who still have no health insurance but now they have even less money, and increased premiums (penalties + premiums) for families who are already paying for health insurance but it is not approved coverage according to the ACA.
I truly do understand the desire to implement healthcare-"reform" via Obamacare.
The individual-mandate though, wow, I think that was probably the hardest pill for most people
to swallow.
We do it with auto insurance in most states, where it is required.
I wasn't aware of a line on my tax return requesting information about my auto insurance or know of anyone who has had to pay the federal government for not carrying auto insurance or particular coverage on their policy.
