According to several reports, it's possible the charges against Harvey Weinstein might get dropped. Apparently there have been some shenanigans with the DA and the witnesses, including the DA withholding exculpatory evidence from the grand jury and him advising a witness that it was okay for her to delete voicemails and text messages that could be considered evidence that would potentially exonerate Weinstein from the sex assault charges.

What if Harvey Weinstein goes free, either because the charges get dropped or he's found innocent? The movement sort of started because of him, and even though several famous men have been brought down by accusations, few of those accusations have been proven, and other than Bill Cosby, none of them have resulted in criminal charges.

Do you think maybe we can go back to Due Process for Everyone if we can't even nail the one guy universally considered a creep?

It would mean that the court of public opinion is not the same thing as the court of law.

Which would be a good thing btw.

ETA: Don't conflate, not saying it would be good for Weinstein to go free, only if there is not enough evidence of his guilt on the rape charges beyond a reasonable doubt.

That's about all anyone needs to say about this.

Weinstein is a very powerful guy...its really that simple.

Although we will probably never know the details, old Harry will likely have to write out a FAT check to someone in return for his freedom.

MeToo was put in place to go after Conservatives, not the Weinsteins of the world. You knew that, right?

I think the metoo movement is going to fade away on it's own and maybe already has. Right before the election Sen Sherrod Brown was accussed of forcefully trying to kiss a woman and had her aggressively pinned against the wall. It was just like Kavanaugh where this incident occurred years ago if I re call correctly it was in the 90's. Has there been any chatter of having Brown removed from office? Has there been a 24/7 news cycle on the allegations?

No, the story just disappeared out of thin air and not even a peep about how the FBI should investigate these allegations of Brown sexually assaulting? this woman back in the 90's. The movement has no credibility what so ever and are finding out it can snare the leaders on their side of the aisle. So pretty much the me too ers have grabbed their p**** hats and gone home and their strategy with them.

Yes, won't it be wonderful when the men who love to abuse and coerce women into sexual acts no longer have to worry about things like being brought to justice. Why don't we just declare a certain period every year, like we do hunting season, when men can treat women any way they want, with no consequences ?

At least until it happens to some lady you know and love, like maybe your own wife or daughter, and then I bet some of you change your tune real quick.

Harvey is only one case, and it will not change a thing. More and more women are standing up for themselves, and they are not going to stop that progress because of one case.

I always wanted to ask a partisan if they ever had a thought of their own? or is all they know is the party line and positions by heart?

The above statement is a perfect example of partisan hyperbole hog wash and I would hope you and those reading know it. No one wants woman to be abused sexually or physically by a man and there is no open season of treating woman any way we want. That nonsense is only reality in your sick partisan mind and I am sort of ashamed it came out of a mans mouth.

Wrong their buddy. The Metoo Movement was never designed to go after white men regardless of faith, sex, class rank, or party affiliation. Metoo movement was designed for black women and put in place for black women to call out those who sexually abuse them such as that black pastor, that black uncle, that black father, that black brother, and that black teacher. Lots of such sexual allegations are rampant in the black community creating a cases full of dysfunctional black women. The white liberal as usual hijacked the metoo movement and weaponized to go after all men.

I don't think the metoo movement isn't going to fade away soon. The movement grew from being a voice for young poor black women, and now it played itself on national stage on Capitol Hill. The metoo movement will die down and decline but I don't know when. I think the metoo movement will get bigger, but it will decline thanks to intersectional feminist of the metoo movement over different viewpoints. Example of such is Alissa Miliano and other white feminists, want Tamika Mowry who represents black feminists, and Islamist feminist Linda Sarsour out of the woman's over supporting anti-Semitism and being aligned with the racist group Nation of Islam. And don't forget the struggle between gay feminist, and transgendered feminists vs mainline feminists, and black feminists. Such oppression Olympics will make the metoo movement die down. As the Culture War begins to die down, movements led by Social Justice Advocates, Black Lives Matter, and Metoo will also die down as such groups will take things to far, and will alienate people who once supporting them. Example, how can one support Black Lives Matter, while at the same time black people keep killing each other, and killing innocent children?
