I think in the interest of America - ballots should get rid of party affiliation being stated on the ballot. You just get a name. If you do the research, you will know. If you haven't done the research, don't vote. A lot of career politicians are made from being affiliated to one party, this will force individual candidates to pick their issues carefully and voters to do the research.
Making voting more difficult is moving in the wrong direction. We should encourage voting.
Michigan just adopted straight party voting as a constitutional amendment.
It is a trick to allow parties to collect votes from stupid people. "You do nto need to know anything, just check the box that says our party name. Let me show you where you put your X.
