Oh dear, seems you fall into the category of the former(blinded by partisanship) rather than the latter, of the below quote.

"Anyone upset about Ellison but happy with Kavanaugh is either blinded by partisanship or faking outrage."

Keith Ellison won DFL primary with slightly less than 50% support. The vote was split 5 ways. He won the general election by less than 4%. Next time could be different at the primary or general election.
