The midterm election results may have just assured Trump's re-election in 2020

I could have written this article almost word for word. The democrats won't be able to help themselves now that they have the House. It's going to be fun over the next two years.

What are you talking about? Anyone who knows history knew that the dems were going to pick up house seats in the mid terms. They picked up a few more than I expected and won the house. OK. The R's picked up Senate seats. Split decision.

I think these midterms went better for the republicans than models indicated, and where trump stuck his thumb on the scales, tended to go his way (cruz, de santis, etc) but it's still to early to make predictions for 2020. Trump is going to be a lame duck until 2020, and will have to contend with a hostile house, and that's all before we know the democratic nominee. Let's stay tuned, it will be an interesting 2 years.

So the Dems took control of the House and stopped the GOP legislative agenda, gained 8 governorships including the politically critical upper midwest, turned 333 state legislative seats while the Reps kept control of the senate that they already controlled and that is a "split decision". Come on, now.

Much too early.

Im guessing the Dems nominating some kind of SJW will be as much a factor as anything.

Idiotic title. Don't even need to read the article.

If anything, the flip back to blue last night in the midwestern states does not bode well for Trump's chances to keep those states in his column in the 2020 vote. Those were the states that put him over the top in 2016.
