Law or no law, if they do this it will set off all-out war between the US House and the White House. By taking the US House, Democrats are now in a position where Trump has to negotiate with them to get anything done. By initiating a micturition-war Democrats would be just throwing that out the window.

How many different ways do we Democrats figure out to shoot ourselves in the foot???

If Trump refuses to work with the Democrats because they request a copy of his tax returns in accordance with the law, I'm not sure you can lay that at the feet of the Democrats.

Sure you can. If we initiate a war, we take the blame. It could not be more simple. And for that matter, who cares who takes the blame. It is the result that matters. By winning the house, democrats are now in a position to get some things done, even if minor. By going to war with Trump, we give that up. For what?

Remember too, Trump has a phone, and he has a pen.

LOL. Yeah if you believe Trump or trust him something other then war is possible. But only a moron would do that. Trump has clearly told us who he is, we should believe him. He is a liar.

I have not been much of a fan of Nancy Pelosi, but the good thing about her is that she is an old hand who understands these things. In 2006, when she first became speaker, there were many liberals who urged her to throw investigations at the Bush Administration. Nancy said no, we are not going to do that. She is too smart to shoot herself in the foot.
