The problem is that you cannot wave a magic wand and suddenly increase the value of someone's labor.

Everyone wants more money..... I want more money....
But the way to do that is to increase the value of your labor

If the value of a certain job is worth "X" amount of money in an employers bottom line and the government comes along and tells them that they have to pay people more than "X"..... then that job disappears.

Or best case scenario hours and benefits get cut.
That's only in theory, in actual practice it doesn't work that way. Our minimum wage has gone from $5.15/hr in 2006 to $11/hr now and unemployment has gone down, not up. And further, the few people I know who make minimum wage did not lose hours or lose their jobs. So what do you have to say to that?...........

Can you measure jobs not created? When the economy no longer supports wages at the set level, what then?

I don't consider creating a bunch of $5/hr jobs a good thing, do you?

I consider creating $20/hr+ jobs to be much better, don't know about you

You think laws can do that? Maybe congress can just pass a law that we are all independently wealthy while they are at it.
I think wage controls reduce job opportunities and create unemployment. I think there is plenty of science to support my contention.

And can you answer my questions please?

Then why has it been working differently here? Why have minimun wage workers here not been losing their jobs or hours? Are we just special?........

You cannot "create" jobs at $5 an hour if people are not willing to work for $5 an hour.

And you cannot wave a magic wand and suddenly make people's labor worth $20 an hour.

Can you measure jobs not created? And when the economy isn't doing so well; what then for the $20 and hour worker who is only producing $10 of value to their employer?

It's better to be on the dole than to work for a wage where you'll still have to be on the dole anyways

There are no jobs not created, unless the theoretical jobs would be make-work, like digging a ditch, filling it in and digging it again. Think about it
