Unless thew whole country has the same laws, this argument is ridiculous.
We don't do border crossings between states, so having strict gun laws in one state doesn't make you immune from the state next door that doesn't have strict gun laws.
Having said that, I am not saying gun laws would have stopped this.
How does that work, when it is not hard to make your own, if you know how to use some tools.

Plenty of good guys with guns. The overwhelming majority of firearm owners are good guys with guns. Apparently the shooter had an extended magazine. Doesn't California have laws about high capacity magazines? How did that happen? I mean the law says he cant have that magazine. I bet the criminal did not about the law otherwise he would have left the magazine at home because its illegal!!!
