Gore Vidal, in the 70's, nailed it: Essentially, the U.S. has but one political party. And will we ever get a 2nd or 3rd Party?

The Democratic Party of today is a far cry from the People's Democratic Party of the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's. Today before any Democrat votes on anything, they must call of up their campaign donors to ask for approval.

Our big corporations, to make sure they get their way, split up their campaign donations, sometime 50-50, 50% to the Dem's, 50% to the Republicans. This way, they'll never lose!

Something that confuses me. And I really want to understand, I'm not being snarky. The Trump rallies in the Rust Belt areas, why are they so popular? I know how he talks. But are you guys doing better financially?

What was the middle class has mostly disappeared. Wage workers are now in the poverty class.

How dare you insinuate that America's highly educated rich politicians are exploiting America's underclass with empty promises of hope and change for votes while cashing out their 6 figure paychecks and book publishing deals.

If you are going to make critiques, at least make them credible.
That critique was credible. We're members of the Democratic party which use to defend the rights of the lower and middle class. Has nothing to do with Republicans who were always the Wall Street boys. Our Democratic leaders no longer fight for the middle class - but instead fight for fringe groups all the while becoming as rich if not richer than those bad Republicans they're always fighting with.

How about the Democratic party get back to their roots and fight for the common man. How about the Clintons, Pelosi, and other members of the Democratic party - donate their salary to a charity like Trump and JFK did. You won't see it happening as they are too greedy and why I still think term limits for all are needed. I want to see new blood in both parties and don't want them making a life out of politics - because the longer their in - the more out of tune they are with the American people.

They think we should be handing our money to European countries as part of some treaty that only we and a few other countries will actually follow. I could go on and on. Not a huge fan of today’s Republican Party either, but at least they want to control our borders, want fair trade deals, and take the threats to our security seriously.
Today’s Democratic Party is the party of violence as the called on “go in their faces, go to a restaurant they eat, etc)

It is the party of delusional individuals who are at the top of the party. No morals and for sure no values! The party of hate and sore losers!

The Democrats, propelled by the Media have fully embraced Identity Politics, and abandoned the basic support of the hard working, American citizen. They promote divisiveness, and every Far Left cause and group now. It is FUNDAMENTAL TRANDFORMATION.

Trump made his money as a civilian. The Pelosi's and Maxine Waters of the world made theirs while in public office. Huge difference.

I know you Leftists like to twist or leave out facts for your own convenience.

To be fair, there are many Republican politicians that have also become rich while in office, or after as highly paid lobbyists. However, your point is valid. Trump was never a politician prior to be a candidate for President. Even if he did inherit money, he did create a large, world class real estate empire as a private citizen. That's not an easy thing to do, and people that call him stupid grossly underestimate him.
