I'm just curious about the positions you find too extreme. I don't think most Democrats favor a gun ban, BTW. I know some do, but I know many who do not.

As for global warming, I believe it's a problem, but I don't think it should be the main argument for environmental laws, either, partly because there are those who say that the climate has always changed and always will. (They have a point, of course, but that's no reason for us to help it along.) There is no denying, on the other hand, that clean air and water are better than smog and water so polluted that nothing can live in it. Stick to the basics that nobody can argue with.

Interesting post. I am a bit surprised, honestly. I thought you objected to the entire Democrat platform.

They may not sway your vote but they are reaching for a higher goal. They have their eyes on the prize which in the long run is a world that is safe for all for a very long time to come.

Extremists follow around the ballot box then try to distract those counting 1, 2, 3 ....
by obstructing the entrance to where the votes are being counted..further breaking the law and attempting to incite a mob to drag the head vote counter off in chains to prison...for counting the votes.

Extremist candidates follow around the ballot box then try to obstruct the vote counting process...
by demonstrating an intense case of attention deficit disorder peppered with oppositional defiance disorder in the incessant interrupting of the head vote counter as she attempts to give some one ELSE a turn to speak with her especially since the others had an appointment. Not unlike what happens in Middle Schools across the country on any given day through out history-the entitled cheater trying to distract from his cheatin ways by bullying to get his own way.

I'm not blindly loyal to anyone. I even question myself frequently and change my mind about things. When I see people acting like Stepford Democrats and Republicans I want to slap them for being so stupid.

I'll speak for one voice, mine. F*ck the parties. I don't follow them. I follow individuals and the issues they stand for. If they more so fall in line with my beliefs, I'll stand behind them whether Democrat or Republican.

Most people tend to view themselves as "the sane point of view" and everything significantly different as patently insane. We all tend to do it. Personally, I think if you come to your own conclusions or at least have well thought out viewpoints, then you're on the right track. Here in 'Merica the Righties are blindly certain they have all the right answers and the Lefties blindly believe that they have all the right answers. Truth is, both parties are absolutely terrible. They seem to be in some crazy race to see who can ruin our country first.

Partisan politics makes you stupid. Don't know how many times I've said that but it keeps getting truer. We can't even talk to each other anymore. And virtually nobody uses that thing inside their skull for much.

I agree but the party as a whole still matters. If you vote for any Democrat you're voting for Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi as they call all the shots and democrats all vote in lock step.

Why does it seems that most people are blindly loyal to their political party

Because the people to whom it seems that way, aren't paying attention.

I agree parties matter. Checks and balances working properly are crucial.

I still will vote the person with the closest belief system to my own. That’s how my vote matters to me.

Sometimes, people are just evil. There is no coming together or seeing their side. There is only curb-stomping them.
