Mental illness is real. Chemical imbalances can cause depression. Like you know you should be happy but you feel depression no matter what.

It's different than just simply being depressed about something. It's being depressed and not knowing why.

Mental illness is real, but the "chemical imbalance" explanation is hand waving BS. Which chemicals are out of balance, exactly? Is it phlegm, blood, yellow bile, or black bile? Physicians have been using this made-up explanation for thousands of years when they don't actually know what's going on.

If you can actually determine that a shortage or excess of X neurotransmitter or hormone causes Y symptoms in an individual, and that Z pharmaceutical will fix that, great. But please don't fall back on the "chemical imbalance" bogeyman.

I agree. I am talking about over medication, and unnecessary medication. Way too much of that going on today starting from childhood, especially with boys with so called "ADD and ADHD".

WE are constantly indoctrinated to feel sad, anxious and depressed. Big win for big pHARMa.

I agree with that. ADD is kindof a real thing though. It's like trying to concentrate in a noisy room, and all the noise is every little thing that happens around you.

This illustrates it perfectly:

But ya, too much meds are being peddled to doctors to prescribe them. "Don't talk, just medicate"

Increasing the level of the vitamin B complex would work miracles.
