In a society where you can now identify yourself as anything your heart desires, this craziness doesn't surprise me one bit.

The left are blame for this nonsense, lmao.

It simply astounds me that there are three people on this forum in whose opinions this is actually acceptable!

I hope this doesn't take off. My wife might petition the courts to have me assigned against my will the age I act.

Do online dating and you can say you are any age at all. Just don't plan to ever meet anyone.

I really don't care once people reach adulthood. The "reach adulthood" part required for entering contracts and so forth.

Let them be whatever age they like. It sure would help out when it comes to stuff like age discrimination in employment.

Also... as far as stuff like retirement benefits, Social Security, etc... once a person has worked the requisite number of years, if they wanna go ahead a claim retirement, let them. Plenty of others will want to wait and work longer because they make more money or they enjoy their jobs.

ETA: I realize this does not change their actual DATE of birth. But, we do all age at somewhat different rates, and years are just arbitrary units of measure, so who cares?

Why not? If you look like you could be the age you're claiming to be, you should meet plenty of people... I mean, assuming you're not terribly ugly or boring.

So....... Does this mean that we can throw statutory rape laws out the window? After all, maybe the biological teenager feels very mature and identifies with being 21 which means they can consent or perhaps the biological adult feels younger, like whatever age child they are physically attracted to, so they are merely having sex with a peer.

Yeah, it’s all about what you feel.

Of course not. I think that to allow this sort of thing, you'd have to establish a baseline at legal adulthood.

Once you hit 18 or 21 or whatever that age is, you really could just claim whatever age you like.

We invented this construct known as "age" anyway. Before, people were a lot more like animals and just went by loose concepts like "infancy," "childhood," "mature," and "elder" and that was that.
