And the problem is:

The Reds is Washington now have a licensed to totally ignore the west coast

Or

Our electoral districts are actually far too big to allow for all the local variations in political outlook from one community to another.

Either way the quality of our representation is suffering and reaches a nadir with the concept of just two senators per state.

As far as semantics regarding Trump "running away with the electoral college," -- then he should not have. He won due to under 100k votes in three different states.

Those are razor thin margins--Trump has no mandate--never did. There was not 'landslide' big win. In a country this size, Trump won (the Electoral College) with about 85,000 votes. And Hillary did receive over 3,000,000 more.

There is something wrong with this picture.
It's dictatorship of the minority in this country. Cities are growing, while rural areas are losing people, but they still think they should call the shots in this country.

Somewhat interesting because much of this already happened long ago!

The pathways are legendary. Southerners came up in droves to the Factories (and Freedom, if you were black) of the North. Coal Miners who could make it up to the Factories in Ohio and Indiana did so.

Then came mass communication and air conditioning - and now many of those same people and many others are moving back to "Red" states and turning them liberal. There is really no other way of looking at it in the Big Picture.

An interesting aside - for the first 55 years of my life...in all my study of history and current events and geography, I NEVER ONCE heard the terms "blue states" or "red states". I think this was another "wedge" of the GOP to try and give states "local pride" - or tribalism. History isn't really kind to many of the "red" states so they needed something to prop themselves up with...and a tribe is always a good way to do that.

But it hasn't held because too many people are becoming too reasonable. Relying on the uneducated and fundamentalist and tax evader populations isn't really a good way to build a bloc for the future.

Reagan wanted a Big Tent with millions of Mexicans that he gave amnesty to under it. The current GOP wants to go back 500-1000 years before trade, movement of people and the quest for reason, logic, science and enlightenment.

In the long run, they will go the same way as ALL hunter-gatherers on the planet. It's not good or bad, it's just the evolution of mankind. It didn't happen instantly and we are never going to go back.

You really think most Mexicans want to live in big cities? That's hilarious. Have you even been to most of Mexico? Beyond TJ?

Break the Union. It's the only solution to liberal tyranny.
Yeah, landlocked Wyoming with less than 600,000 people will do just wonderful in that situation.

A good friend of mine is from Mexico, and over time was able to bring his whole family up. He works as a grocery picker in a warehouse. Bought his first condo after being here 9 months, fixed it up, brought his family here, bought a used house, rented out the condo, and they are all living in the house. He speaks Spanish, German, Russian and English. He lived in five cities in Mexico, and still owns homes in each city, renting them out. One of them was in Ciduad Juarez, and because of the problems there, he could not collect rent for 4 years as the drug lords controlled the area his house was in. That city is now cleaned up.

That is what a real Mexican is like. Intelligent, hard, hard workers, family people, and industrious. I like him, his wife, their teenage and 20 year old kids, and his Mexican friends.

And, that, exactly, is what any Mexican I know like. Any of them.

This story doesn't make any sense. How do you work at a near minimum wage grocery warehouse as an order picker for a few months and buy a condo and house and support a family. He owns 5 houses in Mexico. And he speaks German and Russian .

Accepting the very questionable story at face value, it would not be typical of immigrants or illegals from Mexico or anywhere. He is some kind of upper class in Mexico or involved in something there. And how does any of it benefit Americans? The only feel good story for me is American families prospering.

Then do you feel that the liberal cancer is even spreading to one of the brightest red states, Oklahoma, since that state just elected a Democrat for Congress for the first time this century?``
