Buying or carrying a gun would be a waste of money for me.

That said, I am declaring, because I have a soul, that anyone that shoots someone, and kills them intentionally, then rejoices that kill, is a soul-less lunatic.
As much as adults are responsible for their own decisions, it would suck to have to take a life that was misguided much of their life and deemed by society to be incorrigible.

What a bunch of crap.

IF I had to kill someone to protect my or ANY MEMBER OF MY FAMILY OR FRIENDS I WOULD REJOICE IN KNOWING I SAVED THEIR LIVES!

You "think", something I think you are NOT doing, you would feel better if one of yours was killed and the shooter lived?

Only a LUNATIC would think otherwise!

Quite a BIG difference in your "tone"!
I don't agree that honest adult discussion cannot ensue if the OP does not declare a position. I submit the posts to-date as evidence.

Besides, I voted in my poll!

I do carry a gun and train with it very frequently. Its weight on my hip reminds me to remain vigilant and aware. I continuously assess the tactical situation around me, even in my yard, even at home.

"Rejoice" certainly is not what I would do if I had to kill a man in defense of my loved ones.

"As I live," says the Lord God, "I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked." -- Ezekiel 33:11

I would not rejoice in my loved ones having been in a life-threatening situation. They certainly would not remember such a thing with pleasure, nor would I. The entire incident would have been a tragedy, in which I'd only succeeded in limiting the tragedy, not making a comedy of it.

Lucky for you, do you need some of the numerous examples where someone could have used one to protect their life, or did use to protect their life?

I never needed a fire truck, ambulance, nor fire extinguisher, yet I support taxes going towards the fire truck and ambulance, I have an extinguisher in the house and car, even have and maintain smoke detectors even though never had one go off due to smoke.

Center mass. Everything else is too much of a risk in self defense.

Quite true, and that is stop the threat, if it kills that was not the primary intention, just stopping the threat was.

You are a slave of your own fears.

I have a carry license, but I choose to not carry because it's a pain in the rear.

Do you wear seatbelt? Do you have property insurance? What about life insurance? How many times in your life have u used them?

Also, my daily carry is a snubnose s&m .38 revolver. It's slightly bigger than my Samsung Note 8.
