They both represent our country. That is the point.

Good or bad, they both do. It is something I learned back then as a minority child. Understanding why your group is not represented is a start.

Deflecting what? The people of the US elect their representative, that is the reflection of the US. Race, gender, religion, has nothing to do with it. If it did, then Obama would be far, far from best representing the US as black males make up what, 7% of the US?
