This means that in NY and CA, when you include state and local taxes, some people will be paying over 80% in taxes. Thats just absurd, regardless of how much money anyone makes. The federal government does not have the right to take 70% of anyone's income, taking ~30% is questionable, especially considering how wasteful they are with it.
the flat-earthers who want and support such taxes can't think beyond their own petty jealousy. Kennedy brought and to such confiscatory tax rates and the economy, as a result, took off like bat out of hell. Reagan too.

You see, once people hit a tax wall like than, they simply sit it out until the next year and start investing in tax-free municipal bonds, or offshore.

How does raping the winners help losers? After all, the losers are still losers, and will always be losers, and the winners will find ways around the rapists.

Just exactly how much should the rich pay........and how did you come to that figure? You are aware that the rich/well off already pay the majority of taxes....right?

There isn't much of a choice. Republicans have abandoned conservative values in favor of corruption and greed. There's not much way to vote for them any more.

Are you going to restore the 1954 IRS Tax Code, too?

Deficit spending existed long before Reagan.

I'm a moderate. I do believe the tax rates need to be progressive, but a top rate of 70% is insanely regressive and creates incentives for individuals to reduce their income.
