No kidding.

And you're being diplomatic by putting it that way .

On the other hand, many of those Democrats won by hair thin margins and they will all be up for re-election again in 2 years. You can bet if they renege on a promise not to vote for Pelosi then their opponent will sure make sure the voters remember it.

Well looks like Ben McAdams is likely to win tomorrow when UT votes are certified, so things might get wonky, but I am betting things will sort out to where some Democrat is Speaker and not a Republican.

That's exactly what the democrats voted for. You elected someone who's first action was to sit in a protest of their own party. Promoting, supporting and electing Ocasio-Cortez is proof that liberalism is a mental disorder.

I'm afraid you are mistaken. Promoting, supporting and electing Donald Trump is proof that conservatism is a mental disorder.

If you create a new thread that is fake news or a troll thread, it is immediately deleted and the OP gets a temp ban of 24 hours. Also, everyone's username has a ticker/counter for how many threads/comments they've made that are fake news/trolling, for everyone to see.

This is CLEARLY a troll thread and the OP had no intention of actual political debate when creating this thread.

But yeah, that doesn't happen here on C-D LOL

Wow that's awesome. Can you pm me I might want to check it out. This constant trolling here is getting old. I prefer intelligent fact based conversations to the constant same old same old here.

It's ridiculous to think that the democrats would elect a republican speaker. Lets see if anyone challenges Pelosi. It would be wise if nobody does. That way the democrats appease their voters and Pelosi wins anyway.

Come on Waldo, you can do better. Don't upset the boss now.

Oops! Looks like somebody's fantasy is not the real thing.

The Latest: House elects Pelosi speaker as Dems take control
Quote:
The House has elected Nancy Pelosi as its speaker as Democrats take command of the chamber for the new Congress.

The near party-line majority vote makes her the country’s most powerful Democrat as the party begins two more years of confronting President Donald Trump. Except now, Pelosi’s Democrats will be able to set the House’s legislative agenda and conduct investigations of the Trump administration that Republicans shunned when they held the majority.
