Be crystal clear, the judgment did not take the verbal abuse in consideration, so it was not a case of racial slur justifying murder.

It became a case of self defense when physical contact was made.

Justice system would be declared broken if physical violence in retaliation for a racial slur was condoned.

That would be a journey into pure gang law, where a perceived dis demands physical retaliation.

The FedEx driver should have kept going. He got offended by a racial slur after possibly going too fast through the area and decided to stop to deal with the person who called him a name. This wasn’t the right thing to do and now a man is dead.

It wasn’t self defense and he should be charged with manslaughter.

Why would he do that? He was probably already an Obama cabinet member and on welfare and illegal and homophobic.

Agreed. That's what savages do. America has a history when that was overlooked before. We can't let it happened again.

Negative. It became self defense when the deceased escalated into a physical assault on the driver.

You could make an argument that it was a poor decision for the driver to stop, but his decision to stop was not unlawful. The deceased's physical assault upon his person was the first unlawful act in the whole situation and thus the driver is clearly entitled to respond in kind in self defense.

Here in my state, I could have legally shot the attacker.

The driver escalated when he got out of his vehicle and engaged in a confrontation which could have reasonably been expected to have ended in a physical fight. The verbal abuser could have easily said that at that point that it was he who felt threatened and acted in self defense.
