I love how some people are worried about what foreigners think of our President - when we finally have a President that actually represents Americans! Oh, no! He won't give them absolutely everything (including full military & trade protection) for free, like our previous Presidents traditionally have!

How smart of us to "save the world" by getting involved in endless World Wars and policing the world, while in the process enslaving the American Working Class in perpetuity with payroll withholding of Income Tax to Washington. And even after all the WWII bills were paid, the federal tax burden continued to just grow and grow, when all Washington was supposed to do was defend the borders -- which is the only thing it DOESN'T DO!

About time we had an American President, instead of a World President who sends all the bills to working Americans.

.
Yet he lost the US popular vote by the largest absolute margin in history

Sorry, but racism and trillion dollar deficits to pay for tax cuts primarily benefiting the wealthy does not represent the average American

What Mr. Trump represents is the destruction of American values and lack of leadership and decreased world influence.

From what I've read in the foreign press, Europeans and people of other developed nations think he is a cruel and greedy buffoon baby. They are stunned by his lack of a moral compass and his utter arrogance and ignorance. Some have gone on to report that it is a widely held sentiment that Americans are being pitied for the situation we are in. And the world leaders are moving on without the USA..... as he has encouraged by his every action and word.

MAGA....Shudder.
You're a wealthy nation without universal health care, who goes to war with countries for their oil (Iraq), who supports countries like Saudi Arabia for cheaper oil prices yet claims you're the "leader of the free world". You were always a joke in the world.

One good thing about Trump is he doesn't hide it. It's nice that it's out in the open. "America First" it always was but when it's shielded in "We are so generous and fantastic" you want to puke in your mouth.

illegal aliens aren't a race, and they have no place in American society. Period. Welfare parasites, depressed wages, and crime are not American principles. They are the cancer that have allowed the working class to have depressed wages. Republicans are pro merit based immigration (aka people that will keep america growing strong. who have an education, and can take care of themselves).

tax cuts were just to make america globally competitive. It doesn't matter how much you raise taxes ... you not only destroy economic growth/innovation... but unless you cut spending you can't get rid of yearly deficits. Social security is a ponzi scheme ready to burst soon.

Reagan and gwhb already proved that regressive tax cuts don't pay for themselves and cause massive deficits.

How some on the right don't believe facts and history is sad, but then again, not surprising considering who they brought to power.

So while the wealthy and corporations raid the Treasury with the lowest tax rates on record, trump has managed to fool you with the illegal immigrant red herring, instead of looking at automation which has killed far more jobs than Mexico or China ever could have

Of course globalist fools in Europe always wanted the USA to kow tow to them. All they care about is our money..THATS IT!!!

I am pleased to hear that they are "moving on" without the US to fund their friggin socialism.
Putting American interests first can be accomplished with diplomatic methods and without alienating the rest of the world.

I'm amazed that anyone would think that putting American first goes hand in hand with being a rude boor toward the rest of the world's leaders.

Sometimes yes sometimes no. Have you ever been in a tough negotiation? Sometimes the other party gets upset with you, but because you have something they want will capitulate, but first they have to "test" you to see your resolve. That's what foreign entities are doing with Trump. He is a fantastic negotiator, and always negotiates from a position of strength. We have tremendous leverage due to our huge markets for goods, and military strength. Trump is using those to our advantage. The robust economy is evidence of that.

For several decades the U.S. has caved to Europe, and Asia with regards to TRADE. Trump is finally attempting to level the playing field. They have treated US unfairly. Now it is time to correct that, and yes they are going to get pissed off for a while. Good!

Howard Dean: People overseas don't see Trump as a 'legitimate president'

I call it the 'Trump Interregnum'.

Seriously, one of the most constant refrains I heard from birthers and bitter old fashioned Trumpie-like conservatives in my area was loud grousing about how no one around the world respected our president ... which happened to be Obama. Yet I actually had travelled and lived overseas in that time frame, and I never saw that, so I wondered where they were getting that notion (my first guess would be Rush and Glenn). It certainly was not first-hand knowledge.

Now we actually have a president no one overseas respects (for fairly good reasons) and confronted with this reality Trumplodytes can only say "who cares what they think" ?!?

Trump is the laughing stock of the planet. Even his lover boys laugh at him: Putin, Kim Jong-Il, Mohammed bin Salman, etc., etc.

I'm not suggesting anyone has to cave to anyone. A president can be firm without being a jerk who pretty much lets the rest of the world know that he has no clue what he's doing.

And, if you have not already noticed it, him getting off Twitter would go a long way toward not souring tense relations.
