Not an excuse. Why have training at all if you are going to just come in and start shooting like it's the wild wild west?
But you are right. There is no training for this, because you can't train racist beliefs out of people. That only comes with empathy, compassion and understanding, which all racists lack.
Policing is tombstone technology like cars and planes.
They dont start making changes until people are killed. And then lawsuits.
Ok, what should the man have done different. He is running out of the mall away from the shooter? Is he supposed to throw his gun down? If he did that and some kid got it, everyone would be all over him. Story sounds like he ran out of the mall and was shot immediately.
Im sure the cops will say they saw the video and it showed nothing, but they wont let the video get out until everyone forgets about it.
I'm still waiting for the release of the video of the Jemel Roberson shooting.
This is just terrible. No apologies nor any amount of civil damages will bring this young man back. "Thoughts and prayers" are worse than useless. They are sanctimonious bull****.
Latest on the news, witnesses say Bradford was shot in the back while running away. It has been confirmed, despite the pictures, the military says he was never in the service.
I don’t think this is a case of “I shot that person because he was Black and because he’s Black he started the fight”. I think it was more of a case that they assumed Bradford, Jr. was the suspected shooter because he was holding a gun. I don’t know if his skin color had anything to do with it. If you see someone with a gun during a fight, I think is natural to assume that gun-wielder may have started the fight or been involved somehow. Should the police have handled the situation with him better? I would say “probably”. Should the cops be sued or charged? I don’t know.f
So how does the gun-lobbyist argument about having many "good guys with guns" out there, fit in with the results of this incident? This pretty much shoots that down, doesn't it?

Well, not have the gun out at all. He could have just left it holstered.
Well, we can start with Dylann Roof. He is a mass murderer is he was taken without a scratch, AFTER BEING ON THE RUN FOR A FEW DAYS.
This shooting, well, the first thing I'm feeling is alot of anger. I can't think of anything that man did to deserve getting shot. Another feeling I have is fear. I don't want to get shot by an officer because said officer is operating under "Black men are more likely to be violent so shoot now, ask questions later". Of course I wonder if someone will come here and say "what you're scared of, this is how we feel about Blacks".
The way I see it, the police are suppose to serve and protect.
When they got Roof, the active shooter situation was long over with, it is not even comparable.
In this mall incident, cops are responding to an active shooter.

Yea, so let’s arm everybody! That’ll fix it... [/sarcasm]
Let’s just remember your comment when we have the next debate about why everyone shouldn’t be armed.
Especially, if you’re black, it seems...
Everyone, legally entitled to be. should be armed!
