I remember Jesus`s first miracle when he decorated mother Mary`s house with really cool electric lights that kept the neighbors awake all night. He said to the awake neighbors that first night- "let there be lights-a boatload of lights-so those among you can see how cool Christmas really is when a lot of lights and noisy gadgets are involved. That is the essence of Christmas- really bright lights that keep the neighbors awake at night during the peak shopping season.
It`s all there in the New Testament! http://insider.foxnews.com/2018/11/2...lights-display

Reason: forgot to ad link
We have people in our neighborhood with light displays visible from space. I think most of them do it for fun because it pleases kids and kids at heart. I do not think this is why the homeowner in the linked Fox segment lit up his house like Las Vegas. I think he's just a jerk, and I honestly wanted to smack the female commentator who signaled her approval with an excited, "Good for you!" as though his ridiculous throw-down with his equally obnoxious HOA board was providing some great service to those seeking religious freedom. This battle has absolutely nothing to do with recognizing a Christian holy day. The more I think about it, the more dickish this guy and his cheerleaders on Fox become. Only in America is Christmas about stringing your house with 200k+ lights, annoying your neighbors, and touting your successful court case as a win for Jesus.
Oh, these poor people. I had no idea that people were never allowed to decorate their homes, a tree, or participate in worship services for Christmas before Trump.
Mostly, since everyone around me, including me, seems to have been able to do all these things since as long as I can remember.

That lighting arrangement has nothing to do with religious freedom! I guess the religion of that house doesn't practice, "treat your neighbor as you would like to be treated."
The article I read elsewhere said they have five days where they bring in a real camel and have activities, bringing in thousands of people.
It's not just lights. It's noise, crowds, blocked roads, camel dung, etc. It's great that he does this to raise money for charity - but let him find another way to do that.
