True. My parents were both fairly hardcore democrats back in the 1960s and 70s. I recall a lot of bashing of Republicans from them over the early years of my life. My father is still alive, and if you mention the democrat party to him now, he just shakes his head. He's straight ticketed for Republicans for at least 15 years, even though he still doesn't like republicans--that's how bad he has come to hate what the democrat party has become.
Ultimately, both parties are dysfunctional at this point.
I remember seeing Bill O’Reilley on one of those mainstream talk shows (maybe Oprah) 15-20 years ago, placing everyone in the audience into one of two categories based on their thoughts on an issue. That to me was the beginning of the end....Mitch McConnell only made it that much worse.
At least he based it on the audience's thoughts on an issue; the Left bases in on race and gender.
How Did the Republican Party go from Reaganism to dummied down Buchananism?
The same way the Democrats went from not tolerating religious extremist who expects Burkas and silent wives to loving Muslims in Burkas in the Women's March and backing a religion that would deny same-sex marriage any time of the day.
