No. But conservatives still wanted the US health care system to be half-assed if it made Obama look bad.
And no, the republicans never took back the claim that European style (and Australian and Canadian and Japanese style) health care systems are overall cheaper than US health care (meaning out of pocket + insurance + taxes to support it are cheaper in those countries than in ours). Same thing for education, especially higher education.

Trump already does a fantastic job of making himself look bad whether its through boneheaded tweets, pathological lying, massive cabinet turnover, or ill-advised tariffs which help screw his own base. So there is really no need for liberals to wish for the US economy to fail, simply because he has done a tremendous job of making himself look inept.
