Not to worry Ohio. There is a warehouse distribution center being built right across the road from the Lordstown plant that will be closed. 1000 jobs! Ohio minimum wage: $8.30. Welcome to the Trump economy!

Early in this thread I stated vehicles being produced today are too expensive for what you get.
In 1956, fresh out of high school, I was the first person in my town to own a brand new 1957 Ford convertible.(actually the car was put in my dad's name because I was to young to sign a legal contract)

Ordered it in August of 56, and had it delivered to my door in October 56.
Now, the price of that Ford was $2600, and some change.
I paid cash for the car.

This vehicle had every option available at that time.
That same vehicle today, would cost a buyer in access of $60,000, perhaps more.

So everyone answers, "well the cost of living has gone up".
Obviously that is true, but have any of you actually figured out the "cost of living"?
Why in 1956 were prices low, and in 2018 they are out of sight?
The answer is very simple, and before posting more on this subject, I would like you to answer the question I just asked, then after a few responses, I will continue what I want to say.

Bob.

It is a fact that trucks and Suv's are outselling cars so I can see why GM is doing what they are doing. Kind of surprised they are eliminating the Impala though. I have never understood why they keep the Cadillac line.

It's fine by me. We should be looking at getting people out of cars, and on to transit. Trump's own global warming report shows that.
