Of course it should be prosecuted to the fullest.
I also don't like the way people like Jordan Belfort have been presented as almost hero chrachters by Hollywood when in faxct they are just boiler room fraudsters, who should have been stopped long befre they were.
There was nthing clever about what Belfort did, indeed it was a well known fraud, and authorities had been shutting down boiler room frauds for many decades before Belfort came on the scene, and the same is true of Ponzi schemes.
Although the way Belfort writes and talks about his exploits you would think he was some kind of financial genius or mastermind. The only question that I was left asking after watching 'The Wolf of Wall Street' was why the FBI didn't close down Belfort and his operation much earlier than they did, as he was just a cheap boiler room hustler.
