Many of us found Kavanaugh unfit due to his behavior in the hearing, regardless of the accusations against him.

So, according to all the people who "believed" the Kavanaugh accusers, with literally no corroborating evidence, Tyson should get the full Weinstein #MeToo treatment, right?

I sure hope nobody is going to try to say that since this happened during his university days, this should be overlooked.

Yes, he should get the same treatment as the Kavanaugh case. Let's call the woman a liar and let him keep his job and get any new one.

Man they really should wait to sort that out before they make NDT a supreme court justice then.

Let us know when NGT is up for supreme court justice.

Until then, look up what false equivalence is.

I'm fine with NGT losing whatever his current gig and any future gigs over this or anything else an employer deems inappropriate.

Many people felt the response by Kavanaugh was what disqualified him. Personally I believed the woman but didn't feel that in and of itself was enough to disqualify him from the SC because of the age. His response and actions? Different story.

Luckily, that didn’t include a majority of the Senate.

Justice Kavanaugh has a long and distinguished SCOTUS career ahead of him, regardless of the despicable behavior of those who hate him for no reason and tried to ruin his life and that of his family.

He forgives them, I’m sure — even without the apologies which are due but which they are too classless to offer.

That is not the standard that you applied to Brett Kavanaugh. For that matter, it is not the standard that the Senate Judiciary Committee applied to Kavanaugh either, as you know very well. There were six, actually seven FBI investigations of Kavanaugh. All leads determined to be legitimate by the FBI were followed up on. Those people who were identified as corroborating witnesses gave statements and were interviewed by the FBI - and they ALL refuted the stories as presented by the accusers.

Meanwhile, people like you insisted that all women should automatically be believed and that Kavanaugh was therefore a serial gang rapist and a drug dealer and maybe even worse. It was the most outrageously despicable display of naked character assassination that any of us have EVER seen here in this country, and I honestly do not expect to see anything to top it as long as I live. It was that bad.

The difference is here there is corroborating evidence, where there was none in the Kavanaugh case. So, do you support believing women, or not? Or is this just a blatant partisan smear tool, which you think should be shelved for those who pass the Democrat left "Identity politics" and "Political correctness" popularity test?

I actually had to look up who this guy is. To the OP, so your comparing an Astrophysicist who wrote some books to a man who is being appointed for life to the SCOTUS? A man who may have touched a woman inappropriately who says she may have reported it if it happened today to a man who forced himself onto a woman and sexually assaulted her? So if this Tyson guy did these things then what do you want to happen to him? Not like he is a big tv star, politician, or Supreme court nominee to take down.

So you believe this lady but not the one who says god ole Brett raped her? Why not both?

Shame on someone who was angry at being accused of rape with no evidence!

I do not use the just "believe" them method. The point is that the advocates of this approach really do not consistently use it either.

Neil deGrasse Tyson has politicized his scientific presentations and is a public media figure. He was the lead actor in the recent remake of 'Cosmos,' which was filled with all kinds of political cracks and anti-religious gibes. It was very partisan, and no, it was not just all about "science".

So, are we all ready here to retire this hyper-partisan "just believe all women" nonsense now? It sounds like from some of the defenders of Tyson here - who were all for ruining Kavanaugh based solely on uncorroborated accusations - that we just about might be ready to let this go.

Is it time to let this totally unjust and nonsensical approach aside in exchange for treating ALL of these matters as potential crimes with the accused getting all the protections of due process?

Yes or no?
