An honorable and dignified President. He served the US faithfully, and was a well respected fellow.
RIP...and a heartfelt thanks for your wonderful service to our country.
He stood tall when the gun nuts blew up the Federal building in OK and he renounced his NRA lifetime membership. He stood tall again when he wouldn`t support the current WH occupant. I never voted for him but I`ve always felt that he was good guy. A horseshoe pitch on the WH lawn was pretty cool.
Lord, give rest to the soul of Thy departed servant George Bush in a place of brightness, a place of refreshment, a place of repose, where all sickness, sighing, and sorrow have fled away.
Into your hands, O merciful Savior, we commend your servant President George H. W. Bush. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of your own flock, a sinner of your own redeeming. Receive him into the arms of your mercy, into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into to the glorious company of the saints in light. Amen.
Mr. Bush was of the 'old school' in courtesy, including writing thank you notes. When his mother died, back when he was President if I recall rightly, my mother sent him a letter of condolence. A few months later, she got a letter of appreciation back. Not hand written, of course, but signed by him.
I am deeply saddened by the loss of President Bush but am thankful that I once got to have a brief meeting with him.President George Bush will go down in history as a true Patriot and a most respected and successful man. He was the epitome of a gentleman. He was an inspiration and role model of how one can love one's country and find success through hard work, relationships and education. He was a close friend to many, a true family man, and a beloved leader to many more. May we all be inspired and challenged to work daily to create the community and nation he so encouraged, a kinder gentler nation, with thousands of points of light.
