lol No they didn't. Anyone who has studied history fully understands that the democrats were the party of the klan. Which is why blacks voted republican until the democrats started their handouts and bought their vote during FDRs time.
Make something else up.
that's sounds and is precisely like stuff straight out a the mouth of 1960's George Wallace. We certainly know that the 1960's George Wallace as all about... "racism", and "the promotion of segregation" and "the denial of minorities to participate in the FULL spectrum of America", and he was against including minorities being eligible to participate in the public services, the same public services that "poor whites had utilized for centuries and decades". It did not become considered as "hand out" by Poor White society, until it included American minorities as being eligible participants. Because the Poor White no longer had it as a singularly benefit to the madness of "white privilege" ONLY to participate in public service programs".
Poor Whites voted on which ever side they thought would give "Only" to themselves the benefits of Public Assistance. It's still today, a big part of their wants from the Republican Electorate, is to make benefits available to poor whites only.
Blacks began to vote Democrat, once the southern democrats moved into and dominated the Republican Party and started pushing the same agenda that the racist and segregationist of the old southern democrats once pushed.
History has it all recorded, no attempt or effort to distort that truth will stand.

You people just don't get it. "Mexico paying for the wall" DOES NOT MEAN that Mexico was going to write a check. They are not the same thing.
Its always good to have a Trump translator on hand to explain the nuances when he claims "we will build a wall and Mexico will pay for it".
This is an overly simplistic solution to a complicated problem, until we address the problems in Central America that are causing the migration nothing changes.

You are exactly correct... when we exported everything to China and the Rest of Asian, we should have been helping Central America and Mexico Build up their industrial base. These are hard working people, and if we had dealt with the Drug matters different, instead of improving the pipeline for drug flow, during "the Reagan Years, with the Iran/Contra drug game", we'd not see the problem in Mexico and Central America that we see today. Its sad that we ignored Mexico and Central America, when a big part of America formerly belonged to Mexico.... Half of the names of locations in California is derived from Mexican Words....
Mexican Labor helped build everything in the West Coast all the way to the Colorado Regional Housing and Mini Mall and Other Construction Boom Expansion, and many white people's kids were raised by Mexican Housekeepers since the late 1960's through to the early 2000's....
Mexican labor still to this day, produces tremendously for America, and they do it in many jobs that no America will even consider doing.
Trump says he will shut down the government this month if he doesn't get the funding for the wall. Hopefully it will get started next year. My question is how could congress approve it clear back in 2006 but only complete a few miles of it? Here lays the answer....
